Personal Injury Claims Handler – FULL TIME HYBRID CONTRACT
KennCo are currently recruiting a Personal Injury Claims Handler based in their South Dublin office in Dublin 16. The company was founded in 2008 and it is a dedicated, Broker only Underwriting Agency, acting as a product producer on behalf of top rated European and Irish based insurers.
KennCo performs all the duties of an insurer, from underwriting, pricing, distribution, branding, broker agreements/schemes, accounts reconciliation to full claims handling and settlement. In order to perform these duties to the upmost satisfaction of the major insurers which we represent, KennCo employs high calibre experienced employees. This is a full-time permanent contract and the successful candidate will report directly to the Claims Manager. The Personal Injury Claims Handler will work closely with the wider claims function and the underwriting departments.
The ideal candidate must have three to four years relevant Personal Injury claims handling in Motor/EL/PL. They must be a minimum of APA qualified or grandfathered, ideally working towards CIP.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the role of the Personal Injury Claims Handler will include but will not be limited to:
- Providing excellent customer service for customers whilst ensuring all critical data is captured at notification stage as accurately as possible.
- Handling all incoming communication proactively to ensure the early and cost-effective resolution of all claims
- Dealing with all incoming correspondence from claimants, assessors, garages, solicitors, Injuries Board and other interested parties to ensure that there is no escalation of claim duration and duration related costs i.e. escalation/car hire/costs
- Desktop investigations of claims at the initial stage and where possible decide on and confirm indemnity and liability.
- Negotiating settlements of claims in a professional and fair manner with all interested parties.
- Handling an assigned workload of claims through to final settlement
- Reporting to Claims Manager with any changes in the complexity of claims, ensuring they are identified and dealt with appropriately.
- Conducting regular file and reserve reviews ensuring service standards/quality are in accordance with agreed SLA’s
- Managing personal performance targets to ensure all personal and team targets are met
- Carrying out such duties as management may require from time to time.
Key Skills:
- A minimum of three to four years Personal Injury claims handling is essential.
- APA/Grandfathered status, ideally working towards CIP.
- Customer-focused and ability to agree ‘win-win’ situations.
- Awareness of Underwriting Principles and applicable legal and liability knowledge, claims regulations, compliance (CPC) & motor legislation.
- Methodical & structured approach to work demonstrating good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Flexible with the ability to manage and prioritise the workload in order to fully deliver on objectives.
- Excellent communication & telephone skills

Assistant IT Manager
Overview
KennCo Underwriting, one of Irelands largest MGA’s, is looking to hire a competent Assistant I.T. Manager on a permanent full-time basis to work in their busy IT department alongside the Head of I.T.

Who you will be working with
Primarily you will work alongside a mix of skilled IT staff on a team of 10+, you will work closely with the Head of IT, as well as key stakeholders and other senior managers across the business to collaborate and introduce change through various IT related projects.
What you will be doing
- Assist the Head of I.T. in the day to day management of a team of 10+ skilled I.T. staff
- Take over all such duties of Head of I.T. when they are unavailable due to annual leave etc
- Work alongside the I.T. team to deliver on many I.T. related system and data projects across the company
- Assist in regular performance reviews, on-to-ones and mentoring sessions for the I.T. team
- Be involved in all aspects of the I.T. department including network & infrastructure, procurement, support, projects, data and analytics, application development, batch processing etc
- Supervise daily operations of I.T. processes
- Provide a strong escalated point of contact and support for I.T. team
- Be responsible for department efficiencies identifying gaps or areas in the business where automation can be implemented
- Play a key role in I.T. governance to control risk, increase I.T. value and maintain compliance across all systems and processes
- Work alongside compliance department when implementing any I.T. related changes
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business
- Be involved in creating and monitoring KPI’s across key I.T. and Business metrics
- Provide feedback and assistance to the Head of I.T. in relation to training needs for the team or any areas of concern/ improvement
- Be involved in yearly strategy & resource planning alongside senior I.T. staff
- Be involved in and responsible for maintaining yearly I.T. budgets
- Keep up to date on the latest technologies especially in the Insurance/Financial Services sector and recommend where any advances in technology can assist in process improvement.
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience as a hands-on I.T. manager / line manager/ supervisor from similar size environment (100 users)
- Experience in I.T. related project delivery
- Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing I.T. solutions
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
- Strong creative and analytical thinking and decision making skills
- Strong understanding of INFOSEC environment
- Ability to manage and lead a team of 10+
- 3rd party vendor management experience – contract management / SLAs etc
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and take on multiple different topics at the same time
- Strong interest in technology and desire to keep up with the latest trends
- Proven leadership and role-model qualities
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative
- Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry a distinct advantage
Our desired qualifications & software skills
- Relevant third level qualification in Computer Science or similar
- Project Management Prince2 Practitioner, PMP/PMI certification or equivalent an advantage but not a necessity

Customer Service Representative
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work within the KennCo Insurance customer service department. The role will be dealing directly with customers, answering queries on their policies, renewal queries, mid-term adjustments and any other insurance queries our customers may have. The role provides an opportunity to get experience in the areas of customer service, customer retention and policy administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in all sections of personal lines, including Renewals, Processing mid-term adjustments, after sales customer enquiries
- Building rapport with customers
- Retaining the existing business and working towards renewal retention targets
